Milligan biking nabs two Top 10's

Johnson City, TN (Aug. 31, 2010) ---- The Milligan mountain biking team finished with two riders in the top ten in their first race of the season held at East Tennessee State University.

"This weekend was a great first race for our team,” said Head Coach Brad Hil said. “Our riders did a great job of competing on what is considered one of the toughest courses in the country. The short track was very technical and tested all the riders from every school.”

In the short track competition, Brandon Jones (Valley, Ala.) took third place in the men’s C division, while Jeanine Vaszari (South Bend, Ind.) placed seventh in women’s B. Jared Abel (Charlotte, N.C.) and Micah Redden (Portsmouth, Ohio) finished 14th and 21st respectively in the men’s B division, while Jeffery Twadell (Atlanta, Ga.) finished just shy of a top 10 finish as he came in 11th in the men’s C division.

Ethan Quisenberry (Johnson City, Tenn.) was the lone Buff downhill racer, and he finished 18th in the men’s B division.

Milligan biking signs Quisenberry

Milligan College, Tenn. (Feb. 10, 2010) --- The Milligan College mountain biking program has announced a new signee for the upcoming 2010-2011 season with the addition of Ethan Quisenberry to the program. Head Coach Brad Hill made the announcement.

Quisenberry is a native from Johnson City, Tenn., and will graduate from Tri-Cities Christian School this spring. He will compete in downhill events, and could also participate in the double slalom events.

”He is a local student that has ties to the college, which will be a great asset to our team. He will be riding in the gravity events for us in the 2010-2011 season which was a spot that we did not have in the 2009-2010 season.” Hill said. “Ethan is an aggressive rider that is excited to be a part of our program. I also think Ethan will be a great addition to the Milligan College campus. He is an excellent fit both socially and athletically."

Ethan is the son of Dave and Linda Quisenberry as well as the brother of Cara-Beth Quisenberry, who is presently attending Milligan College. He is undecided in his major field of study during his time at Milligan.
