Milligan College, Tenn. (July 30, 2009) --- The Milligan College cheerleading squad received several accolades at this year’s Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) college division camp held on the campus of University Tennessee-Knoxville.
Over the course of three days, the cheerleaders went through instruction, evaluations and on the last day had a competition among the other colleges and universities. The cheering Buffaloes faced off against the top competition in the country and faired quite well as they were crowned “Camp Champions” in the small co-ed division.
Along with the overall title, the Milligan cheer squad placed second in sideline cheering and received superior markings across the board in all of their evaluations. The Buffaloes were also given the leadership award as voted on by their peers and chosen as the “Most Collegiate Squad,” voted on by UCA.
“We were very happy with how the team conducted themselves on and off of the floor,” commented Head Coach Ronda Paulson. “We hope to bring that same spirit to Milligan this coming year.”
