Milligan College, Tenn. (June 30, 2009) --- Hancock County High School's Theo Collingsworth signed his letter of intent earlier this week to attend Milligan College and play basketball for the Buffs.
Collingsworth, a 6'7” center from Thorn Hill, Tenn., averaged 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists per game last season for the Indians. As a senior, Collingsworth was named to the All-District squad, All-Region squad and was the team's MVP. He was also named by the Citizens Tribune to the All-Lakeway Area Team.
“Theo has a very high basketball IQ and is a great passer,” commented Head Coach Bill Robinson. “We are extremely pleased to have Theo come to Milligan this fall, and we are excited to see what he will develop into over the next four years.”
Buffs' basketball adds three more Milligan College, Tenn. (June 3, 2009) --- The Milligan College men's basketball team added three more players last week for the 2009-10 roster. Cypress Bay Hill's Eric Trujillo, Sullivan Central's Tyler DeVault and Christopher Dock Mennonite's Rob Larsen all signed their letter of intent to attend Milligan College and play for the Buffs this season.
Trujillo, a point guard from Miami, Fla., led the Cypress Bay Hill Lightning to a stellar 21-5 record averaging 15 points, seven assists and three rebounds per game. As a senior he was selected to the All-Tournament team at the George Taylor Classic as well as being ranked in the top five players in the prestigious DWI Holliday Classic in Binghamton, N.Y. Trujillo was recently chosen to play in the BCAA All-Star game in Broward County.
“Eric is an explosive point guard with the ability to make his teammates better,” said Head Coach Bill Robinson. “He gets great elevation on his jump shot and has the ability to be a shut-down defender. We are extremely excited about his addition to our program and the Milligan Community.”
