Coach Wallingford enters his 25th year as a collegiate head coach and 20th season at the helm of the Milligan basketball program. He is Milligan's all-time winningest coach with 369 wins in 19 seasons. Wallingford is ranked 12th on the NAIA's winningest active coaches with 521-250 record in 24 seasons.
Wallingford is a four-time AAC Coach of the Year and has led the Buffs to seven conference titles and two NAIA National Tournament appearances, including one "Sweet Sixteen" appearance. Wallingford's Milligan teams have compiled eleven 20-plus win seasons. Wallingford's seven conference championships rank him #1 among all AAC coaches. During his tenure, the men's basketball team has been ranked among the NAIA's top 25 six times.
As a collegian, Wallingford was a basketball and baseball standout at Washington and Jefferson College (PA) where he earned eight varsity letters and was named MVP in both sports.
Wallingford holds a B.A. in political science with teacher certification in social studies from Washington and Jefferson College and an M.A. in secondary school administration from the University of Akron.
Coach Wallingford and his wife Terry have been married for 26 years and have three children, two of which are Milligan graduates: Sara ('04), Donnie ('05) and Seth. The Wallingfords reside in Johnson City.
Coach Edwards enters his second season with the Buffs as the top assistant.
Edwards is active in all phases of the Buffs program and heads up recruiting, video exchange, and player academic progress. "He is a tireless worker, highly organized, and an excellent teacher of the game. We're lucky to have him at Milligan," Coach Wallingford states.
He is a four-time all-South Atlantic Conference selection while playing for Carson-Newman College (1999-2003). The 6'7 Edwards also participated in the prestigious California Summer Pro-League in 2003.
Edwards holds a B.A. in History Education from Carson Newman.
