Milligan College, Tenn. (April 10, 2008) --- Elizabethton standout, Jacob Albrecht, signed a letter of intent to play tennis for Milligan College on Wednesday. Jacob is playing #3 singles for the Cyclones this year and #2 doubles.
The team is undefeated in conference play this spring and will enter post-season play as the favorite to win.
“I'm delighted to have another local player added to our roster at Milligan,” commented Milligan Head Coach Ron Worrell. “Jacob is a tough competitor. He's enjoyed a good senior campaign for EHS. Elizabethton has had a good tennis program for many years and I'm always scouting new talent in their program.”
Jacob will join EHS team mate Ricky Jones on the Milligan squad in the fall.
Milligan College, Tenn. (Apr. 22, 2008) --- Milligan College head men's and women's tennis coach Ron Worrell has announced that Micah Redden (McDermott, Ohio) will join the Buffs for the 08-09 season.
Redden was a standout performer at Clay High School and led the team in the no. 2 doubles spot and the no. 1 singles positions during his junior and senior years respectively. Redden also enjoys swimming, soccer and basketball during down time.
“I'm pleased to add Micah to our program," commented coach Worrell. "He's a great all around athlete but tennis is his first love. I'm proud that Micah chose Milligan College.”
Redden plans to major in Nursing while at Milligan.
