Buffs show improvement during Invitational
London, Ky. (September 7, 2007) --- The Milligan College men's golf team finished in the 12 slot at the University of the Cumberlands Invitational after 36 holes. The Invitational took place at the Crooked Creek Golf Club which has a 72 par, 6,433 yard course.
Lee University came out on top with a team total of 571, 291 on the first day and 280 on the second. Josh Lawson completed the two day invitational four under par with a total of 138 (73, 65).
The Milligan Buffs finished with a team total of 325 on the first day and 311 on the second day making a tournament total of 636. Milligan's own Ben Treadway (Johnson City, Tenn.) tied for 14 overall with a 75/75. Grayson Patton (Fries, Va.) tied for 33 with an 80/75. Michael Woods (Knoxville, Tenn.) shot a total of 164 (84/80). Ben Leno (Plainfield, Ind.) rounded out the top four of Milligan with an 86/81.
“We were pleased with the improvement on the second day. If we continue to work hard, we should have a good season,” Head Coach Tony Wallingford looks ahead to future success from his Buffs.
The golf team will travel to the Tennessee Wesleyan Invitational on September 9-10, 2007.
