Buffs show progress at tournament

Niota, Tenn. (September 10, 2007) - The Milligan Men's golf team continues to improve, placing 5 th in the Tennessee Wesleyan Invitational. The invitational took place at the Spring Brook Country Club, a 72 par course.

Tennessee Wesleyan College and Lee University tied for first place with team totals of 591. Lee University's H. Parker took the top spot in the individual competition shooting 36 holes with a total of 134.

Milligan's team shot a total of 621 with Ben Treadway (Johnson City, Tenn.) leading the way with 75/76 and a total of 151. Grayson Patton (Fries, Va.) came in second with a 76/78 and 154 total. Jay Berhardt (Johnston City, Tenn.), shooting a 77/82 with a total of 159, tied with Ben Reno (Plainfield, In.) who shot a 78/81.

Head Coach Tony Wallingford commented, “I am encouraged with the better scores. We are preparing well for the conference season beginning soon.”

The Buffs come back home for the Milligan College Invitational at the Elizabethton Golf Club on September 13, 2007 beginning at 1 p.m.
