Buffs win local tournament
Milligan College, Tenn. (September 13, 2007) --- The Milligan College men's golf team took the top spot in the Milligan College Invitational with a team total of 304. They played at the par 72, 6,400 yard, Elizabethton Golf Club. They Milligan Buffs took full advantage of their local knowledge by besting Bluefield College and Virginia Intermont College with a team total of 309 and 325 respectively.
Pace Snow from Bluefield College took the top individual spot with a par of 72. Second place went to Daniel Shroeder of Bluefield College with a round of 74. There was a five way tie for third place between Grayson Patton (Fries, Va.), Jay Bernhardt (Johnston City, Ill.), Michael Woods (Knoxville, Tenn.), Ben Treadway (Johnson City, Tenn.), and Gabriel Reusche with a round of 76. Ben Reno (Plainfield, Ind.) took eight place with a round of 78. Chad Arnold (Bluefield College) had a par of 79 and Greyson Rossi (Virginia Intermont) rounded out the top ten with a round of 80.
“The team played very well today. I am happy with the improvements we continue to make. The win today should give us some momentum for the regular season conference tournament on Monday.” Head Coach Tony Wallingford commented on the superior effort of his team.
