Buffs lose to ETSU exhibition
Johnson City, Tenn. (Nov. 13, 2007) --- The Milligan College men's basketball team lost their exhibition game Tuesday night against their cross town rival, East Tennessee State University, with a final of 100-53.
The Bucs jumped out to an early lead against the Buffs, but the Buffs started to battle back midway through the first half. The Bucs fended off the Buffs though, to make the score 60-25 at the half.
The two teams seemed to trade off baskets through most of the second half. With 7:36 left to go in the game, there was a power outage that lasted for roughly 20 minutes that allowed the teams to regroup. The second half was better for the Buffs as they scored 28 points and held the Bucs to only 40.
The Buffs struggled from the field shooting only 37% opposed to the Bucs 59%. Freshman Isaiah Harris (Nashville, Tenn.) led all Buffs with 11 points, in only 18 minutes of play. Sophomore Randall Smith (Chattanooga, Tenn.) continues to play strong for the Buffs with nine points and four assists.
The Buffs travel to Berea, Ky. for the Berea Classic Nov. 16-17. The Buffs play at 6 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
