Buffs advance to Regional finals

Chattanooga, Tenn. (November 2, 2007) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team defeated King College in the regional semi-finals 1-0. This was the Buffs third time facing King and they had lost the previous two times, so third time was a charm.

The score remained knotted up at zero at the end of the first half. At the start of the second half the Buffs came out strong and Rasmus Willhemsson (Ytterby, Sweden) scored in the 52 nd minute of the game. He scored off of a thru ball and he chipped over the keeper's head. The Milligan Buffs out shot the Tornados 11-6. Bryan Newbold (Sylva, N.C.) had 3 saves on the evening.

Head Coach Dave Dixon stated, “Tonight was fullest 90 minute performance we have had and I am proud of the team and their efforts.”

The Buffs will be playing in the regional finals November 3, at 7pm in Chattanooga, Tenn.
