Buffs force overtime

Milligan College, Tenn. (September 12, 2007) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team battled throughout the entire game and forced overtime play, but suffered a defeat 1-0 from conference foe King College. The Tornados scored a goal with 2:17 left to go in overtime.

Head Coach Dave Dixon said, “It was a tough battle, but we had a few unlucky calls and we just didn't finish on the chances we got. The entire team played well and showed tremendous work ethic.”

The Buffs goalkeeper Bryan Newbold (Sylva, N.C.) had several saves that forced that game into overtime, and Kyle Wilcox (Indianapolis, Ind.) put up an excellent defensive effort. The team showed a lot of hustle and determination, but just came up short.

The men's soccer team will take on Covenant College, in ACC conference play, on Sept. 15. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Lookout Mountain, Ga.
