Buffs drop heartbreaker

Black Mtn., Ga. (September 26, 2007) -- The Milligan College men's soccer team battled throughout the match but were unlucky to just come up short. Montreat's Bangura Shaka scored the games only goal in the 65th minute to reward the Cavs with maximum points.

Milligan pummeled the home teams' goal for most of the encounter, totaling 14 shots, but the home defense stood firm. Similarly Kyle Wilcox (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Michael Negussie (Addis Ababa, Ethopia) combined with the rest of the Buffs defense to maintain the scoreless status of the game for the majority of regulation play.

“The men were unlucky tonight.” commented Head Coach Dave Dixon. “We just couldn't finish the chances we created for ourselves.”

The Buffs will take on conference foe Bluefield College, Sept. 27. Kick-off is set for 4 p. m. in Bluefield, Wva.
