Buffs dominate second-half
Milligan College, Tenn. (October 2, 2007) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team came out focused and ready to battle against conference foe Tennessee Wesleyan, which resulted in a 2-0 victory.
The Buffs struggled to score in the first half, but their defense also kept the Bulldogs scoreless. The Buffs came out in the second half focused and determined to win the game. The Buffs first goal was scored by Phil Wilson (Middlesbrough, England) in the 55 th minute and was assisted by Josh Stephens (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) However, the Buffs were not satisfied with just one goal and Josh Silver (Brownsburg, Ind.) scored the second goal off of a Kyle Wilcox (Indianapolis, Ind.) cross in the 64th minute of the game. Stephens assisted the second goal as well.
Silver showed determination in winning balls in the air while Wilson controlled the mid-field really well throughout the game. Overall the entire team played well and it was a great team victory.
“The team showed tremendous work ethic and it was nice to score more than one goal,” commented Head Coach Dave Dixon. “Tennessee Wesleyan battles the entire game, which made our guys have to work to score. When you have to battle to score it makes for a great team win.”
The Buffs will be back in action to battle against non-conference opponent Lambuth College. Kickoff is set for 6pm at Anglin Field on the Milligan College campus this Friday, Oct. 5 th.
