Buffs hard fought battle ends just short of victory

Milligan College, Tenn. (October 8, 2007) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team battled through a tough and physical game against University of Mobile, but fell short of pulling off an upset 0-1. The Buffs held the nationally ranked 8 Rams scoreless in the first half. The Rams Ruben Diaz scored the lone goal in the 50 th minute of the game.

“The effort of the team was astonishing and I am proud of the guys,” commented head coach Dave Dixon. “Tonight's performance proves that we can play with all our opponents.”

Kyle Wilcox (Indianapolis, Ind.) showed tremendous work ethic and hustle throughout the entire game, and Phil Wilson (Middlesbrough, England) had a nice shot on goal that hit the post. Overall the team put on a great performance.

The men's soccer team will travel to Barbourville, Ky., to challenge conference foe Union College this Wednesday, Oct. 10th. Kick-off is set for 4 p.m.
