Aqua Buffs qualify for NAIA Nationals

Asbury, Ky. (October 20, 2007) --- The Milligan College swimming teams traveled to Asbury College for the first meet ever in Milligan's history, and for the year, against Asbury College, Berea College and Campbellsville University.  Milligan finished second to Asbury in both the Men's and Women's divisions.

"I was very proud of the effort of all the swimmers and we are all looking forward to improving on our accomplishments," Head Coach Ron Goehring commented.

First places by Milligan swimmers were achieved by Greg Cathers (Kingsport, Tenn.), Houston Steele Stewart (Barnardsville, N.C.), Taylor Duran (Johnson City, Tenn.) and the 200 freestyle relay of Mara Sacco (Ellwood City, Pa.), Rachel Landry (Boone, N.C.), Anna Goss (Herskell, Tenn.) and Darcee Kubisiak (Johnson City, Tenn.) qualified the team for the NAIA National Championships in Texas in March, 2008.

The Buffs next meet will be the Swanee Invitational held at Swanee, Tenn. November 2-3.
