Lady Buffs earn three national marks at MTSU

The Milligan College women's track and field team picked up three early national qualifying marks Saturday at the Middle Tennessee State University Christmas Invitational in Murfreesboro.
Both the men's and women's squads lined up against Tennessee State, Western Kentucky, and host Middle Tennessee. Senior All-American MacKenzie LaBonte led the Lady Buffs with a runner-up finish in the 3000 meters in a national qualifying mark of 10:21.75. Sophomore All-American Rebecca McDowell finished fifth in the 3k in a national qualifying mark of 10:36.39. Junior Jacklyn Talbert, an All-American in the mile last indoor season, finished third in the 800 meters with a national qualifying time of 2:19.17.
Additional top five finishes came from junior Nicole Moore and senior Brittany Bales. Moore finished fifth in the women's mile in a new personal best time of 5:18.04, while Bales, a member of last years All-American distance medley relay, finished fourth in the 800 meters.
Milligan's men were led by sophomore Aaron Wood's fifth place 800 meter finish and seventh place finish in the mile run. Junior Will Frye finished sixth in the men's 3k, while freshman Mike Kimson set a new school record in the men's shot put.
