Lady Buffs defeated by Berry

Rome, Ga. (Nov. 10, 2007) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team was defeated by Berry College 68-82. The Lady Buffs were down by 11 at the end of the second half, but battled to the end.

The Lady Vikings were lead by Mickey Duncan with 35 points. Duncan was the first of four to be in double figures in points for the Vikings. The Lady Buffs were lead by Rikki Baughman (Elizabethton, Tenn.) and Heather Mandela (Fairfax, Va.) with each having 17 points. Mandela also led the team in rebounds with 11.

The game was a very physical game for both teams. The biggest difference in the game was the Vikings shooting 50% from the field compared to the Lady Buffs 37%.

“The team played well tonight and it was a big improvement from last night,” said Head Coach Rich Aubrey. “We are looking forward to our last weekend of games and starting conference play.”

The Lady Buffs will take a long road trip to Rio Grande, Ohio, for their next game. They will be competing in the Bevo Francis Classic tournament and will be facing Walsh University on November 16. The tip-off is set for 2 pm.
