Lady Buffs dominate Defiance Tournament

Defiance, Ohio (Dec 15, 2007) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team won the Defiance, Ohio, tournament with two consistant days of play. The Lady Buffs dominated in both of their games, winning the first game 76-57 and the championship game 108-80.

Two Lady Buff players were honored with their inclusion on the All-Tournament team. The standout freshman Heather Mandela (Fairfax, Va.) was named to the team as was sophomore guard Brittany Kilgore (Kingsport, Tenn.) . Rikki Baughman (Elizabethton, Tenn.) was named the tournament MVP.

It was the team's strong performance on both sides of the ball that earned the title of tournament champion.

"Our offense was great, but it was our defense that allowed us to control the tempo of the game and play our game," commented Head Coach Rich Aubrey. "We head into Christmas break feeling good about where we stand."

The Lady Buffs will have a few days off before they travel to Berea, Kentucky on January 3. They will face Berea College and game time is set for 7 p.m.
