Injury factors into Lady Buffs loss
Mount Berry, Ga. (Oct. 6, 2007) --- The Lady Buffs soccer team were shutout Saturday against the Lady Vikings of Berry College. The Lady Vikings scored three goals in the first half and two goals in the second.
"This may look like an awful performance, but I feel we played very hard today and with a lot of heart," said Assistant Coach Lisa Buckley. "We have three players that are injured and did not play today which hurt us. We hope to get everyone healthy for the tournament and hopefully can make a run."
Buckley felt that junior goal keeper Rosanna Couture (Ontario, Canada) played very hard today. Freshman Becca Mauldin (Clinton, Miss.) "played well on the defensive side and controlled the tempo," said Buckley. Junior Rachael Butz (Seminole, Fla.) also played well on the defensive end, according to Buckley.
The Lady Buffs travel to Union College for their last regular season conference game Wednesday, Oct. 10, kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
