Lady Buffs punished by Lady Patriots

Williamsburg, Ky. (September 8, 2007) -- The Milligan College women's soccer team suffered an away defeat at the hands of the Lady Patriots, by a margin of 3-0. The University of the Cumberland 's took full advantage of two Leslie Allred goals in the 6 and 53 minute, to ensure victory at Doyle Buhl Stadium in Williamsburg Ky.

Lady Buff goalkeeper Rosanna Couture (Ontario, Canada), gathered 11 saves during the encounter, but the Lady Patriots' persistence was too great for the traveling squad. The tie was put beyond the Lady Buffs' grasp in the 75 minute when the Lady Patriots' Jamie Roberts scored a third goal, which ended any hope of a comeback.

"We're disappointed about the result this afternoon, but the work rate just wasn't there for us. We have King next, and with that being conference play, that's the games we are really interested in" commented Asst. Coach Lisa Buckley.

The Lady Buffs will take on King College, in AAC conference play, on Sept. 12. Kick-off is set for 5 p. m.
