Lady Buffs drop heartbreaker
Bristol, Tenn. (August 31, 2007) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team out-shot the Lady Hawks of Shorter College, at the neutral venue of King College, but to no avail. Tamar Wilson capitalized on a split-second lapse of concentration by the Lady Buffs' defense and scored the game winner in the 86 minute.
The Lady Buffs will take many positives from the encounter, in which they out-shot the Lady Hawks 14-8. Once again sophomore Rosanna Couture (Ontario, Canada ) proved invaluable in goal for the Lady Buffs, recording a total of eight saves for the evening.
“This was a disappointing result for us, our work rate was lacking today. This is something we will have to improve upon for Sunday” said Head Coach Dave Dixon.
Next up for the Lady Buffs will be their home opener against the current NAIA National Champions, Lindsey Wilson College. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. For more information please visit www.milliganbuffs.com
