Lady Buffs tie away with ten
Barboursville, Ky. (Oct 10, 2007) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team held the Lady Bulldogs to a 2-2 tie with only ten players for most of the encounter. Milligan's Katie Kiebler (Lexington, Ky.) received her marching orders for her second yellow card of the game to reduce the visitors by one.
Jenna Zutt (Lexington, Ky.) struck first for the Lady Buffs when an unassisted free-kick found the back of the net in the 42 minute. Following the restart, Tiffany Brown (Greeneville, Tenn.) connected with a corner-kick in the 68 th minute to catapult the Lady Buffs to a comfortable two goal cushion.
The Lady Bulldogs eventually capitalized upon the numerical advantage in the 70 th minute to stun the visitors. The laboring Lady Buffs defense ultimately conceded the game-tying goal in the 80 th minute. Lady Buff goalkeeper Rosanna Couture (Ontario, Canada), gathered 8 saves during the encounter, which stifled the home teams' late second-half rally.
“We battled well throughout with only ten.” commented Assistant Coach Lisa Buckley. “Katie's (Kiebler) red card was a little harsh, but the team came together well for a satisfactory result in difficult circumstance on the road.”
The Lady Buffs will take on Lincoln Memorial away on, Oct. 12. Kick-off is set for 3 p. m.
