Lady Buffs sign All-State pitcher
MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TENN. (Jan. 24, 2008) --- The Milligan College Lady Buffs signed the AAA District Player of the Year (2007), Rachel Ingleby on Thursday, January 24, 2008. Ingleby is currently a senior playing for Farragut High School in Knoxville, Tenn.
Ingleby made the Tennessee All State team in 2007 as well as the honors of 1st Team: Prep-Extra 2007 and 1st Team: KIL Team 2007. Ingleby currently has a .364 batting average, 25 RBI's (runs batted in), and had struck out 234 opposing players. She also threw for 14 shutouts and five no hitters as a junior.
Ingleby's high school coach, David Moore, made a statement about the signing; “Rachel has been a model citizen and great asset to the Farragut High School softball program. I am looking forward to her having another outstanding season this year. Milligan has signed a very good student / athlete. She will be an asset to the Milligan softball program.”
Head Coach Wes Holly commented on the addition, “We are excited about adding Rachel to our pitching staff. She will provide much needed depth and has a strong work ethic. She is an excellent student on and off the field and will be an outstanding addition to the team.”
