Volleyball drops three at Asbury

Wilmore, Ky. (Oct. 13, 2007) --- The Lady Buffs drop all three matches Saturday, at the Asbury College quad match. The women struggled on the road, but Head Coach Kim Hyatt says, “The good competition we faced this weekend is preparing us for our upcoming weeks and into tournament play.”

Asbury College
Asbury beat the Lady Buffs in three straight games; 25-30, 27-30, and 17-30. Freshman Erin Biddle (Newport, Tenn.) led the way in assists with 19. Leading in kills was freshman Ashley Welch (Waynesville, N.C.) with 10. Freshman Ellyn Sapp (Johnson City, Tenn.) had 19 digs for the Lady Buffs.


Lambuth College
Lambuth beat the Lady Buffs also in three straight games; 19-30, 27-30, and 20-30. Biddle had 13 assists against Lambuth. Senior Amanda Hyder (Johnson City, Tenn.) had five kills for the Lady Buffs. Freshman Ashley Agin (Atlanta, Ga.) had three blocks at the net in the contest. Senior Alyssa Graber (Montgomery, Ind.) had 24 digs.


Rio Grande
The Lady Buffs lost the first two games to Rio Grande, 19-30 and 18-30, but rallied back to win the next game 32-30. The Lady Buffs lost the final game of the afternoon 28-30. Hyder and sophomore Kalyn Perrigan (Bristol, Tenn.) tallied 12 kills a piece against Rio Grande. Biddle had 38 assists against the Redwomen. Perrigan also had four blocks in the match. Biddle had three aces. Leading in digs was Sapp with 18.

The Lady Buffs play host to Montreat College on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007. The game is set to start at 6:30 p.m.
