Brevard too much for Lady Buffs
Brevard, N.C. (Nov. 6, 2007) --- The Lady Buffs took on NCAA division II Brevard College Tuesday night in a non-conference battle. The Lady Buffs were out played, but Head Coach Kim Hyatt said, “I was pleased with how the team performed tonight against a strong team.” The Lady Buffs lost in three games; 20-30, 27-30, and 15-30.
Freshman Erin Biddle (Newport, Tenn.) led the way in assists with 24. Freshman Ashley Welch (Waynesville, N.C.) had nine kills to lead Milligan, while sophomore Kalyn Perrigan (Bristol, Tenn.) had six and senior Amanda Hyder (Johnson City, Tenn.) had six. Freshman Ellyn Sapp (Johnson City, Tenn.) had 12 digs on the night. Freshman Kristin Hobbs (Bristol, Tenn.) led all Lady Buffs in blocks with two. On the serving end, five Lady Buffs all contributed one ace.
“We played very well the first two games, they were both very fast pace games which is our style of play,” said Hyatt. “The third game our serve receive was a problem, but overall I was pleased with our play.”
The Lady Buffs gear up for the AAC tournament which begins Nov. 8. The tournament will be held at King College (Bristol, Va.).
