Milligan volleyball wins home opener

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TENN. (August 28, 2007) --- The Milligan College women’s volleyball team continued their win streak Tuesday night against the Evangels of Johnson Bible College. The Buffs won the match in three straight games.

The first game started out hot for the Lady Buffs, then cooled off a bit, but they managed to pull out the 30-24 victory. The second game belonged to the Lady Buffs as they won 30-16. The final game of the match ensured the Lady Buffs victory with a final score of 30-15.

Leading the offensive attack was sophomore Kalyn Perrigan (Bristol, Tenn.) with seven kills. Following Perrigan at the net was newcomer Emilee Hale (Morristown, Tenn.) with five kills. Assisting the attack was freshman Erin Biddle (Newport, Tenn.) with 17 set assists and senior Allison Slagle (Bristol, Tenn.) with 11 set assists. Senior Amanda Hyder (Johnson City, Tenn.) continued to have the hot hand serving six aces, while Biddle contributed four aces.

Defensively freshman Ellyn Sapp (Johnson City, Tenn.) and senior Alyssa Graber (Montgomery, Ind.) both had 14 digs a piece. While junior Christy Degen (Atlanta, Ga.) had nine digs. Also on defense, Hale had seven blocks at the net.
