Lady Buffs lose to Lady Bulldogs

Milligan College, Tenn. (Oct. 2, 2007) --- The Lady Buffs played tough Tuesday night against the Lady Bulldogs of Union College but came up short in their efforts against one of the top ranked teams in the AAC Conference. The Lady Buffs lost the first game 30-27, but then rallied winning the second 30-25. The last two games belonged to the Lady Bulldogs 30-24 and 33-31.

Freshman Erin Biddle (Newport, Tenn.) had 45 assists for the Lady Buffs. Leading in kills was freshman Ashley Welch (Waynesville, N.C.) with 17, while senior Amanda Hyder (Johnson City, Tenn.) had 14 and sophomore Kalyn Perrigan (Bristol, Tenn.) had 10. Freshman Ellyn Sapp (Johnson City, Tenn.) led the way with 26 digs, while junior Christy Degen (Atlanta, Ga.) had 16. Biddle helped pace the Lady Buffs serving four aces. Welch also had three blocks on the night.

“We played great tonight,” said Milligan College Coach Kim Hyatt. “We were very focused and competitive the entire match against one of the top teams in the conference. We played as a team and we are continuing to prepare for tournament play.”

The Lady Buffs are back in action Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 7:00 p.m. as they travel to Bryan College for another AAC match.
