Volleyball falls to Union

Barboursville, Ky. (Sept. 6, 2007) --- The Milligan College women's volleyball fell to the Lady Bulldogs of Union College in three straight games. The Lady Buffs battled during the opening game, but just came up short with a final score of 30-22. The Lady Bulldogs took full advantage of the home setting, as they dispatched of the Lady Buffs 30-14 and 30-18, during the remaining two games.

The Lady Buffs' Allison Slagle (Bristol, Tenn.) led the way in serves for the visiting team, as she contributed three aces during the encounter. Impressive offensive statistics were also posted by local senior standout Amanda Hyder (Johnson City, Tenn.), who accrued five kills during the match. Backing up the attack was Erin Biddle (Newport, Tenn.) with 12 set assists.

Defensively Ellyn Sapp (Johnson City, Tenn.) added 12 digs while Meredith Lynch (Lexington, Ky.) rose for 7 blocks.
