Freshmen lead Lady Buffs to victory

MILLIGAN COLLEGE TENN., (Sept. 21, 2007) --- The Milligan College freshmen class helped lead the Lady Buffs to a win Friday night against conference opponent Tennessee Wesleyan. The Lady Buffs won in three games defeating the Lady Bulldogs 30-21, 30-24, 30-18. Freshman Erin Biddle (Newport, Tenn.) led the way with 31 assists and five aces. 

Fellow freshman Emilee Hale (Morristown, Tenn.) received the assists and converted them into eight kills. Hale also had three blocks. Freshman Ashley Welch (Waynesville, N.C.) led the way in kills with 11. Rounding out the freshman attack was Ellyn Sapp (Johnson City, Tenn.) with 24 digs.

“I was very pleased with the outcome of the game tonight,” said Milligan College Coach Kim Hyatt. “The team stayed very focused throughout the entire game. I was also pleased to be able to rotate in several players.”   

The Lady Buffs host Covenant College for a conference match up Saturday, Sept. 22, at 3:30 p.m.
