Dalton's Palmer signs with Milligan
Milligan College, Tenn. (Dec. 13, 2008) ---
The Milligan College men's baseball team announced that
Garren Palmer will play for the Buffs next fall. Palmer, a
standout catcher from Dalton High School (Dalton, Ga.),
signed with the Buffs late last week.
As a junior, Palmer batted .524 at the plate and an on base
percentage of .594. With runners in scoring position,
Palmer batted .667.
Palmer, a highly touted player, has several
accolades to his name. Last season, he was selected as the
Georgia 4A “Region 7” Catcher of the Year, as well as the
2008 Dalton Daily Citizen Player of the Year. Palmer was
also selected to the Chattanooga News Free Press All-North
Ga., /Chattanooga, Tenn., first squad last season.
"Garren is a great fit for our school and
baseball program,” commented Head Coach Nathan Meade.
“He is a well rounded individual excelling on the field and
in the classroom. We expect Garren to be a big part of our
success in the future. He's a big kid, with a blue collar
work ethic, and a world of potential. We are excited about
his future here at Milligan.”
Garren resides in Rocky Face, Ga., with his parents Gary and
Cathy Palmer. Garren is currently undecided of his major at
Milligan.
