Davis first signee of the year

Milligan College, Tenn. (Feb. 20, 2009) --- The Milligan College softball program signed their first recruit of the 2010-2011 season last week in Cherokee High’s Courtney Davis. Head Coach Wes Holly made the announcement.

After 115 at bats in 2009, Davis has a batting average of .330. She also has a 91 percent fielding percentage and boasts 23 runs batted in for the 2009 season.

Davis was selected to the first team All Intermountain Conference team in 2009 and second team All Intermountain Conference in 2008. She was also part of the 2008 ASA 18U National Qualifier and the 2008 second place Memorial Day tournament.

“I am very happy Courtney has chosen Milligan College to further her academic and athletic careers,” said head coach Wes Holly. “Courtney is a great fit for Milligan, as she is a very solid student, excellent character and knows the game of softball very well. We look for her to contribute immediately to our softball program.”

Courtney is the daughter of Danny and Lesa Davis of Rogersville, Tenn. Davis plans on majoring in education at Milligan.
