Alfano breaks team records at Sewanee
Milligan College, Tenn. (Nov. 21, 2009) --- The Milligan College men’s and women’s swimming squads broke two school record in a tri-meet against Asbury and Sewanee on Saturday. Milligan’s Evan Alfano (Chattanooga, Tenn.) also qualified for the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships.
Alfano won the 200 IM with a new school record and qualified for the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships with a time of 202.73. Alfano also set a new school record in the 100 breast stroke with a time of 101.97.
Sophomore Aaron Pigford (Johnson City, Tenn.) remained undefeated for the season by winning the 100 backstroke in 54.68.
Milligan’s swimmers will travel to Black Mountain, N.C. for a tri-meet against Warren Wilson College and Emory & Henry College starting at 1 p.m. on Jan. 23.
