Milligan College, Tenn. (Dec. 9, 2009) --- Milligan volleyball’s Meredith Lynch (Lexington, Ky.) was recently named to the 2009 Daktronics NAIA Volleyball Scholar Athlete list, as announced by the NAIA.
Lynch, a senior, has a list full of other awards throughout her career at Milligan, as she earned All-Academic and All-Conference accolade for the past three years. During her senior campaign, Lynch recorded 179 kills, 113 assists and 105 blocks from her position as middle blocker.
“Meredith is a student-athlete that any coach wants to have on their team,” commented Head Coach Doneva Bays. “She is a very hard worker on the court and in the classroom. She has been a great leader and an integral part of this team for the last four years, she will be greatly missed.”
The Lady Buffs volleyball squad finished the season with an overall record of 18-19, and a fourth place finish in the conference. Lynch and the Lady Buffs also made a Final Four appearance in the AAC Tournament and were named the 2009 AAC Champions of Character.
Meredith is the daughter of Greg and Wilma Lynch of Lexington, Ky., and is planning to graduate this spring with a communications degree.
