Lady Buffs take exhibition over Lees-McRae

Banner Elk, N.C. (Nov. 30, 2009) --- The Milligan Lady Buffs picked up an exhibition win as they defeated the Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats 59-55 in Williams Gymnasium.

Milligan kept Lees-McRae in check for the first half as the teams stayed within striking distance as the Lady Buffs trailed 29-27 at halftime. The Lady Buffs used an 83% (10-of-12) shooting performance from the free throw line to gain an edge in the second half that allowed them to take the victory over their NCAA Division II foe.

The Lady Buffs were led by junior Heather Mandela (Fairfax, Va.) who had 20 points and nine rebounds on the night. Sophomore Alisha Mainer (Flag Pond, Tenn.) had 10 points, while freshman Victoria Dailey (Knoxville, Tenn.) and freshman Jamie Hill (Johnson City, Tenn.) both had six points.

Milligan returns to Steve Lacey Fieldhouse on Wednesday when they host AAC member Union (Ky.) College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
