D-B's Hardy signs with Milligan
KINGSPORT, TENN. (Apr. 28, 2008) — Marshall Hardy, a 6-foot-5 standout forward from Dobyns-Bennett High School, has signed a letter of intent to attend Milligan College and play basketball for the Buffs. Milligan head basketball coach Tony Wallingford made the announcement.
Hardy helped lead Dobyns-Bennett to an impressive 30-5 record and a trip to the TSSAA State Tournament this past season. As a senior, he was selected to the All-Region team and was an All-Conference selection. Hardy was the Indians' top rebounder and led the team in free throw percentage. This past season Hardy was selected by local media on three occasions as their “player of the game.”
Hardy joins a Milligan program that is coming off back to back 20-win seasons. Wallingford is happy to have Hardy join the Buffs.
“The bottom line is Marshall makes teams better,” said Wallingford. “He is a winner. He's one of those guys that does all the little things that are necessary for teams to be successful. He's a hard worker and possesses a ton of potential. His best basketball is ahead of him. We feel fortunate to have him in our program.”
Hardy is an outstanding student and a prestigious Tennessee/Virginia Scholar. He plans a major in biology at Milligan. He is the son of Craig and Dona Hardy of Kingsport.
