In singles Michael Bell (Franklin, Tenn.), playing #4, defeated Robinson by a score of 7-6(6), 6-4. Freshman Adam Knust (Plainfield, Ind.) won his match at #6 singles over Aaron McMahon, 7-6(6), 6-2.
“I'm very proud of the Lady Buffs. We are all happy to actually get a match in. We've had so many matches rained out and rescheduled this spring. I saw a lot of good things today. I also saw a lot of things we need to work on,” commented coach Ron Worrell.
“I think Michael Bell and Adam Knust showed alot spunk in their matches today," commented Coach Worrell. "Johnathon Ryan played a tough match against a good player but Johno just couldn't get a break in the close games. We just need to hit a lot more balls and get some matches under our belt.”
The Buffs will see action again on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 2 p.m. at King College.
