Milligan tennis struggles against national powerhouse
Milligan College, Tenn. (Mar 18, 2008) --- The men's and women's tennis teams took on the Union Bulldogs at home and suffered a similar fate for each program. The visitor's stormed to a 9-0 final score in both competitions.
The no. 14 Union Bulldogs executed the plan to perfection without dropping a game on the way to victory.
"The scoreline doesn't justify how well we played today," commented Head Coach Ron Worrell. "They are both nationally ranked programs and with this being a rebuilding we can certainly take some lessons from this match."
The Lady Buffs dropped in straight games to the Lady Bulldogs by a margin of 9-0 also. The Lady Bulldogs are currently ranked 17 in the nation and displayed why they are ranked so strongly.
The Milligan men's and women's tennis team will host Cumberland University on Friday, March 28, at 3 pm at the Mathes Tennis Center on the campus of Milligan College.
