Buffs finishing strong

Milligan College, Tenn. (April 23, 2008) --- The Milligan College men’s baseball team increased their winning streak to seven Wednesday afternoon as they swept NCAA Division II Brevard College. The Buffs took down the Tornados 5-4 in the first game, and 11-0 in the nightcap.

Sophomore Todd Caldwell (Johnson City, Tenn.) started out on the hill for the Buffs and threw five innings. Freshman Jason Trivett (Bristol, Tenn.) came in to relieve Caldwell and snagged the win in two innings of work. Offensively, junior Brian Busby (Lexington, S.C.) led the Buffs. Freshman Dustin Ford (Jonesborough, Tenn.) lifted the Buffs to the win during the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single.

Junior Michael Dillow (Gray, Tenn.) recorded a shutout and a win for the home team during the second game of the afternoon. Dillow pitched all six innings for the Buffs. Sophomore Alex Bush (Maryville, Tenn.) hit a three-run shot to lead the Buffs at the plate during the second game. Junior Justin Motte (Johnson City, Tenn.) also performed well at the plate for the Buffs.

The Buffs play host to 14th ranked Union College Saturday, April 26, for their final regular season AAC series. The double-header is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Anglin Field.
