Milligan drops both to Cumberland
Lebanon, Tenn. (March 11, 2008) --- The Milligan College men's baseball lost both games of the double-header Tuesday to Cumberland University . The first game the Buffs lost 10-6 and the final game 4-0.
Sophomore Toby Hoyle (Johnson City, Tenn.) received the loss in two-thirds of an inning. Junior Justin Motte (Johnson City, Tenn.) went 2-4 at the plate, while sophomore Ricky Morgan (Johnson City, Tenn.) went 2-3. Junior Brandon Murphy (Johnson City, Tenn.) hit a two run shot for the Buffs.
Sophomore Todd Caldwell (Johnson City, Tenn.) suffered the loss in five innings of work, but only gave up three hits and one earned run. At the plate the Buffs only had two hits in the nightcap.
“We were disappointed with the loss today, but we are setting our sights on Saturday,” said Milligan College Head Coach Nathan Meade . “We have one of our biggest series of the season on Saturday when King (College) comes to play us.”
The Buffs host AAC foe King College Saturday, March 15, at Anglin Field. The first game of the double-header starts at 1 p.m.
