Buffs swept by no. 2 Lee University
Cleveland, Tenn. (April 1, 2008) --- The Milligan College men's baseball team dropped both games to second ranked Flames Tuesday on the road. The Buffs lost the first game 8-2 and the second game 7-4.
Sophomore Todd Caldwell (Johnson City, Tenn.) suffered the loss for the Buffs in the first game. Caldwell scattered six hits, gave up three earned runs, and struck out three batters. Offensively for the Buffs, sophomore Ricky Morgan (Johnson City, Tenn.) went 2-3 with a run scored. The Buffs mustered up six hits during the first game.
Senior Jon Stoudt (Marietta, Ga.) is credited with the loss during the final game of the afternoon. Stoudt scattered nine hits and gave up six earned runs. Freshman Jason Trivett (Bristol, Tenn.) came in to relieve Stoudt and gave up one hit and one earned run in three innings. Junior Justin Motte (Johnson City, Tenn.) went 2-3 for the Buffs with a run scored and a RBI. Junior Spencer Street (Johnson City, Tenn.) went 1-1 in the nightcap with a run scored.
The Buffs travel to Virginia Intermont to take on the Cobras in AAC action Saturday, April 5. The first game of the double-header is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
