Milligan tennis signs Western Carolina transfer
Milligan College, Tenn. (July 14, 2008) --- Milligan College head tennis coach Ron Worrell added another player to the Lady Buffs roster on Monday afternoon when Heather Bell signed a letter of intent to transfer from Western Carolina University (Cullowhee, N.C.).
Bell, a Franklin, N.C., native, played her high school career for Coach Rick Blanton at Franklin High School. She was a two-time All-Conference selection and received the team's MVP award two years. Additionally, Bell was named to the All-Western North Carolina Honorable Mention squad.
“I am very happy to have Heather join our team this year,” said Worrell. “Heather's NCAA Division I experience at WCU will help our team. I feel she will add more depth to our team and perform very well for us.”
Along with her athletic accomplishments, Bell was selected to the Dean's List at Western Carolina both semesters which she attended. Bell, the daughter of Gary and Donna Bell, plans to major in education at Milligan.
