Milligan would come back however and cut the lead in half in the second inning only for Trevecca to increase their lead to 7-3. Trailing 10-4 after the top of the sixth, the game was called due to darkness. Ricky Morgan led the Buffs hitting, going 2 for 3. Busby, Mark Simo, Motte, Murphy and Crouch all had one hit apiece. “We have to do a better job of minimizing and avoiding the big inning from a defensive standpoint,” commented Head Coach Nathan Meade. “I feel like there was one bad inning in each game. Tough innings are going to happen but we cannot afford to make the mental mistakes that enable those innings to be prolonged and thus end up with two or three more runs resulting. Our kids played hard this weekend and I think there a definitely some positives we can bring out of here this weekend, but there are some things we are going to have to work on. |
