Buffs beat in conference play

Bristol, Tenn. (Feb. 2, 2008) --- Milligan men's basketball team chopped a sizable King lead to 54-52 with 11:10 remaining in the game, but could not stop the Tornados any further on their way to a 84-67 win.

King, which shot 60 percent from the field, remains tied for first in the AAC with Bluefield and the Buffs failed to combat this to their detriment.

Jeff Barnes, a powerful 6-7 junior, led Milligan (16-6, 7-5) with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Danny McKeehan contributed 12 points and nine rebounds.

"We just didn't play our game tonight," commented Head Coach Tony Wallingford. "The stats told us about their shooting ability and we simply didn't play against thier weaknesses."

Next up for the is a home conference game against Bluefield College. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday the 5th.
