Aqua Buffs conclude championships with more success
San Antonio, Texas. (Mar. 1, 2008) --- The final day at the NAIA Swimming and Diving Championships in San Antonio, Texas, saw the Aqua Buffs of Milligan College combine to finish 22nd overall nationally in only its' first year of collegiate competition. Records continued to fall as the Buffs took full advantage of the national caliber competition.
Darcee Kubisiak (Johnson City, Tenn.) took on the nation in the 200 yard butterfly event and claimed 20th with a time of 2:32.88.
The Aqua Buffs' Kubisiak, Rachael Landry (Boone, N.C.), Mara Sacco (Ellwood, Pa.) and Sara Baker (Richmond Hill, Ga.) finished the championships off in style when their 400 yard freestyle relay, placing 19 th in the nation, once again shattered another school record by posting a time of 4:09.60.
“This season was a great way to start the new Aqua Buffs program,” commented Head Coach Ron Goehring. "We are looking forward to building upon the momuntum we have created this year."
