Hawkins to compete for Milligan College

Milligan College, Tenn. (Jan. 23, 2008) --- David Crockett senior Brendan Hawkins (Limestone, Tenn.) announced this week he'll run for the Buffaloes of Milligan College next Fall. 

Hawkins, a cross country All-Conference and All-Region performer for Coach Mike Sweeney, finished 45th at the 2007 Tennessee State Cross Country Championships in Nashville.  He has also received All-Conference honors on the track during both his sophomore and junior seasons.

"We're very excited about Brendan, he has the baseline tools to be a very good collegiate distance runner," said head coach Chris Layne. 

The son of Rick and Heather Hawkins, Hawkins also excels in the classroom, earning a Roan Scholar nomination and winning English awards during his sophomore and junior years at Crockett High School . He is also a member of the Key Club and serves as the treasurer for the Hiking Club.
