UH's Foster signs with Milligan

Milligan College, Tenn. (Feb. 1, 2008) --- Daniel Foster, a standout golfer at University High School has signed a letter of intent to attend Milligan College and play golf for the Buffs. Milligan golf coach Tony Wallingford made the announcement.

Foster is a two-time TSSAA state tournament qualifier as well as a two time all region selection. Four times he has been named all conference and All-District in addition to being named conference player of the year as a senior. He has led UH three consecutive years in stroke average. UH Coach Josh Petty awarded Foster the Coaches Award for his work in helping develop freshman golfers at the school.

Foster joins a Milligan team that is coming off its most successful season in school history. In 2007, the Buffs won the conference and regional tournaments and advance to the NAIA national tournament at The Indiana National Golf Club in Plymouth, Ind.

Milligan Head Coach Tony Wallingford is glad to have Foster join the Buffs. “Daniel is a quality golfer with loads of potential. He will be counted on to contribute right away. He is an outstanding student and an even better young person. He is a good fit for our program and school,” Wallingford concluded.

Foster plans a pre-med major at Milligan. He is the son of Les and Jackie Foster of Johnson City.
