Lady Buffs have a clutch finish against Maryville
Maryville, Tenn. (January 5, 2008) --
The Milligan College women's basketball team had another
close game with Maryville College, but they fell short of
the victory. The Lady Buffs lost by a tough four points,
57-61.
Milligan was lead by Rikki Baughman (Elizabethton, Tenn.)
with 15 points and an impressive 14 rebounds, 11 of
which were defensive. Hali Sparks (Erwin, Tenn.)
scored 11 points for the Lady Buffs to be the team's second
leading scorer. Leah Anderson (Lexington, Ky.) and
Heather Mandela (Fairfax, Va.) each scored eight points.
"We played tough all game and we came out in the second half
strong, but we just came up short again," stated Head Coach
Rich Aubrey.
The Lady Buffs will be back in action when Milligan faces
conference foe Bryan College. The game will be played at
Milligan College in the Steve Lacy Field house, tip-off is
set for 5:30 p.m. The Lady Buffs will be looking for revenge
as they lost last year to Bryan College in tournament play.
The atmosphere will be vibrant.
