Buffs defeat Roanoke 4-3
Milligan College, Tenn. (March 11, 2009) --- Tuesday night the Milligan College men's baseball team defeated NCAA Division III Roanoke College 4-3.
The win was a team effort, with solid pitching from both starters and the bullpen, and contributions from everywhere in the lineup.
Freshman Josh Hullett (Knoxville, Tenn.) started on the mound for the Buffs and was attributed the win after pitching six innings. He allowed two earned runs, four hits, and a walk. Hullett tallied four strikeouts.
Junior Randy Rabon (Rock Hill, S.C.) was 2-4 at the plate with a double and an RBI, while junior Dallas Crouch (Jefferson City, Tenn.) also hit 2-4 and added an RBI. Junior Kendall Williams (Dillon, S.C.) hit 2-2 with an RBI and a walk.
Although the Buffs' offense was solid, the Maroons fought back in the late innings of the game. However, sophomore Jason Trivett (Bristol, Tenn.) pulled through and got the save for the Buffs.
The Buffs play at home Wednesday, March 11, against Lee University. The double-header begins at 3 p.m.
