Two Falcons become Buffs
Milligan College, Tenn. (Jan. 19, 2009) --- The Milligan College men's baseball team signed a duo from Volunteer High School, announced Head Coach Nathan Meade. Catcher Tyler Hutson and pitcher Dylan Frazier are joining a host of incoming freshmen baseball players.
Hutson joins the Buffs with All-Big 9 and All-Northeast Tennessee honors. At the plate, Hutson boasted a .484 average, including seven home runs as a junior. Hutson also drove in 44 runs.
“Tyler stood out in a very good conference as a hitter last year and we think as he develops he can do the same for us,” commented Meade. “Our catching core will be very young next year and there will be a lot of competition for the two spots. Tyler should be right in the middle competing for a job.”
Tyler plans on getting a Biology degree at Milligan.
Frazier was also selected to the All-Big 9 honorable mention squad, as well as the All-Northeast Tennessee team. On the mound, Fraizer carried a 4-4 record, with a 3.84 ERA. At the plate, he had a .279 average.
“Dylan had a very solid junior year in the big 9 conference on the mound,” said Meade. “He has a lot of potential and we are excited to have him in our program. He is not only a talent on the field but also an excellent student in the classroom.”
Dylan plans to major in math.
