Science Hill's Treadway inks with Buffs
Johnson City, Tenn. (May 26, 2009) --- Science Hill’s Bobby
Treadway has signed his letter of intent to attend Milligan
College and play golf for the Buffs.
Treadway, a standout golfer for the Hilltoppers, earned
All-Big Nine Conference honors as a senior while carrying a
74 stroke average. Treadway helped lead the Hilltoppers to a
District Championship title in 2007 under the direction of
Science Hill Head Coach Josh Carter.
“We are very excited to have Bobby join us at Milligan,”
commented Head Coach Tony Wallingford. “Like his
brother Ben, he is an outstanding golfer, a solid student
and a quality person.”
Bobby will become the third current Hilltopper to play on
the Buffs’ squad in the fall. He joins his brother Ben
Treadway (Johnson City, Tenn.), a junior who was
selected to the All-Region squad as a freshman, and
sophomore Jared Songster (Johnson City, Tenn.).
Treadway, an honor student at Science Hill, plans a major in
accounting at Milligan.
The Buffs graduated two from this year's squad that finished
fourth in the AAC. Seniors
Jay Bernhardt (Johnston City, Ill.)
and
Michael Woods (Knoxville, Tenn.)
both
graduated in May after a four year stint with the Buffs and
were a part of the team that won the AAC/Region XII
tournament in 2007. This past year, Bernhardt broke the
single round scoring record with a final round 68 at the AAC
regular season fall tournament and was an All-AAC second
team selection.
